    WHAT IS SHRM?

    The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the leading voice of the human resource professionals, representing the interests of thousands of professional and student members around the world. SHRM provides its membership with education and information services, government and media representation and publications that equip human resource professionals for their roles as leaders and decision-makers within their organizations.

    HOW CAN MY LOCAL SHRM CHAPTER BENEFIT ME?

    The Snake River Chapter is your local organization providing access to:

    • Local network of professionals to share best HR management practices, recruitment, training,       personnel law, health, safety and  security, and employee relations information
    • Professional development programs to improve your HR competencies and advance yourself   professionally
    • Up-to-date information on state and local labor market conditions and issues
    • Relationships and contacts with other local companies
    • Leadership skill development   opportunities
    • Opportunity to obtain PHR/SPHR/GPHR recertification credits

    HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION?

    Attend one of our bi-monthly chapter meetings.  Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of February, April, June, August, October and December.  Meetings include:

    • Lunch ($15)  Only paid members will get the professional credits available.
    • Business Meeting
    • Guest Speaker(s) presenting topics of relevance to HR professionals
    • Access to a Panel of Experts to answer your individual HR questions

    You don’t have to be a member of the National SHRM to be a member of the local SHRM chapter; although being a national member has many benefits.

    Chapter members have the opportunity to participate on one of the four committees (Program, Development, Workforce Readiness or Government Affairs) as a member or chairperson, or serve on the Board as President, President-Elect, Secretary or Treasurer.
